My Dear Husband! He is the World's greatest you know! There aren't enough words to describe the joy I have in my heart for him! I am so glad that I can say "he truly is my dearest friend". We have been married for 17 years now, (half of my life!!) and we have had our share of "good, bad, and ugly" times! But God has sustained us and given to us a Love that I never dreamed possible! So, for my Thankful Thursday post, I want to say how thankful I am that God has blessed me with a man that truly loves me "as Christ loves the Church".

My, how time does fly!
Liberty will be 6 months tomorrow! Where DOES the time go? She is such a wonderful blessing to our family. The kids are always laughing at her little antics, and she happily obliges them. She is rolling all over the place now, wherever she wants to go, she rolls. She says "papa" too.....(at least that's what we say she say's), it could be anything; it just *sounds* like "papa" and it makes James happy :) She is our sweetheart and we thank God for blessing us with her in our lives. We love her very much!

Thankful Thursday...

Pardon my mess...
As I'm sure you've noticed...I have changed my blogs around quite a bit, BUT I think I am done, and I am pleased with how they turned out. It was a lot of work, and it was quite time consuming, but I'm thankful that in the end, it was worth it! Now I just wish my house could be de-cluttered. Oh well, that's another subject for another day...did I just sound like Pa Kettle? Anyway, I've had questions about how I did it...let me say it like this....Have you ever had a recipe where you just dumped in the ingredients and you never even gave the recipe a name and someone asks, "mmmm, how did you make this?...I want the recipe", and all of a sudden you don't even know what you put into it. That's sort of how I feel..... but I will try to explain it the best I can to those who really want to know. :-) Thanks for puttin' up with me!!

Spring is in the air!
Don't you just love spring? It's a time of warm weather, new beginnings, fresh flowers, and birds filling the world around us with their beautiful song. One of the things I love about Georgia, spring comes quicker than it does, say, in INDIANA!! (sorry to all my relatives in Indiana who have to endure winter for a little while longer...) Today is a beautiful day, take time out to thank God for the love He has bestowed on us, for the wonderful creation He has given to us, and for LIFE that He so graciously allows us to experience!

snow.....IN GEORGIA!
The day to remember...Friday, February 12, 2010. What to remember...it SNOWED in GEORGIA! We have lived in Georgia for 3 years now, and yesterday was the first time since we've moved that we have seen any accumulation like that! And I have to admit....I'll be happy not to see any for another 3 years! I'm not fond of the stuff. It's pretty for one day, and that's it! But for the kids sake, I am so glad it snowed! They had a marvelous time playing, and it is something that they will remember always.

And I Know He Watches Me
“I notice that people who have nothing to do but to sit down and stare into the black hole of their own nature, are generally very sad, and not often very virtuous; but they who, knowing how dark and sinful their nature is, trust Jesus for salvation, and then spend their lives in doing the will of the Lord, these are they who are both holy and happy.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
God did not call us to be depressed and melancholy. We are called to be holy. What is our chief end? To glorify God and enjoy Him forever. There is no room for self-pity or self-loathing. Yet so many Christians today have a “woe is me” attitude. We sit around and fret over our circumstances not being what we wish they were, or dwell on all the negatives instead of thanking the Lord for all of our blessings! Sure we will have times of sadness, there is a time to weep and a time to mourn, but we are not to have a spirit of fear. Psalm 121 says “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD which made heaven and earth.” We need to take our eyes off of ourselves and look up to the One who is ready to help us. If He cares for the sparrows, how much more does He care for those who are His children! He knows what our next step will be and He is there to catch us if we fall. What a grand promise that is! If only we would believe it and not sit in our ashes of despair and despondency! He is our King, and through Him we CAN be victorious. John 16:33 ~ “…but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
